The holidays are lit but let’s be real, they can also leave you feeling like you’ve been hit by a Hess truck. Unfortunately family gatherings are not the same anymore for a lot of us. Between the stress of shopping and non-stop events, your energy can get drained fast. Im not a gatekeeper so you know I’ve got your back with some easy ways to stay grounded, shield your vibes, and keep your balance through all the holiday buzz.
1. Ground Yourself Like a G
Feeling like you’re waddling in a muddy puddle of stress? Time to ground yourself.
- Get Outside: Even if it’s cold, take a quick walk. Breathe in the fresh air, the coldness can really shock you into a state of clarity. Think of it like a giant FREE cryotherapy chamber.
- Meditative Moment: Meditating is always a quick and easy way to ground yourself. Once you get really good at it you can do it for long periods but you can start with 3 minutes at a time. It comes in handy when the grinch is irking your nerves at the family gathering. Bathroom breaks = meditation breaks.
2. Shield Your Vibes
Protect your peace with these easy steps:
- Pray : Im a big advocate for prayer. Pray to your guardian angel and ancestors each morning asking them to create a protective shield over you as you set out each day. This is a perfect way to create an on the go personal shield.
- Wear Your Shield: Accessories can be more than just an expression of personal style. Try wearing crystals on your body to keep your energy safe. You can also bless your other accessories by spraying them with florida water and putting a small incantation on them.
3. Balance the Buzz
Find Balance and Stay chill with these tips:
- Tea Time: Your nervous system needs some TLC in a physical way too. Herbs like lemon balm, oatstraw, linden and skullcap can help you chill out when you're feeling a little tense. The warmness of the cup , the aromas and then the calming relief can really help you reset. Make sure to do your research so you choose the herb that suits your individual needs.
- Set Boundaries: Flex that throat chakra my love. It’s okay to say no! Protect your energy by exercising your ability to say NO. Remember, your time and energy are your most powerful currencies.
4. Rest and Recharge
Make time to recharge so you don’t burn out.
- Unplug: Turn off your phone for a bit. During the holidays the ads are outta control. You can end up over spending and regret it later. Make a list, check it twice and stay off of the shopping apps and out your junk email tab. Then there's the beast that is social media. People have subconscious and conscious tree and gift haul wars. That can often leave you feeling anxious or a need to “keep up with the Joneses”.
- Sleep Smart: Set a bedtime that gives you enough rest to handle the next day. If you can sneak a nap in , go for it! Naps are not only for kids you know.
5. Stay Hydrated and Nourished
Fueling your body fuels your spirit. Thanksgiving just passed, and with Christmas and New Years Eve on our heels, we are eating alright! Remember to also balance your nourishment and take your digestive bitters so you're not bloated and full of poop come 2025 lol.
The holiday hustle doesn’t have to drain you. With these practices, you can keep your energy clear, your vibes high, and your spirit strong. So let yourself enjoy the season.
